Nick Burrow – Supervisory Tutor

NZCM NickAfter 6 years completing bachelors and masters degrees in the US, Nick went on to work with both collegiate and professional athletes in various sports. He is a certified exercise physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine and a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Nick brings the latest exercise science and conditioning knowledge and principles to ensure that students are receiving high quality academic and practical information. Nick was involved in athletics where he was a multiple NZ champion, US collegiate champion, and has represented NZ. Nick is an experienced Site Supervisory Tutor having managed the New Zealand Institute of Sport Christchurch site for many years and also has the responsibility of Site Supervisor Tutor for the New Zealand College of Massage.

Specialist Areas: Sports strength & conditioning, exercise physiology, exercise metabolism.

Joanne Crawford – NZCM Administration

joanne-chcJoanne is the Administrative Assistant at NZCM, having primarily worked in the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy Industries in a range of administrative and customer care roles. Presently she is following a change of career in student administration, and working where people gain knowledge and experience in alternative therapies. My interests include 3.D Printing, C.A.D, painting, drawing and continued learning in Computer Studies.

Veresha Padayachee – Certificate in Relaxation Massage Tutor/Student Clinic Supervisor

VereshaVeresha Padayachee was born and raised in South Africa and has been involved in massage for over 20 years, in various health occupations in the health and wellness industry. She holds International Diplomas in Therapeutic Reflexology, Therapeutic Aromatherapy, Hot Stone Therapy and qualifications in Indian Head massage, Ayurvedic Massage and the Reiki system of healing. Before moving to New Zealand 5 years ago, Veresha was employed by a pharmaceutical company to deliver workshops on Stress Management, Diabetes, Hypertension and Healthy Living. She is passionate about helping people take charge of their state of health and loves her current role teaching the Certificate of Massage at New Zealand College of Massage.

Linda Myers – Diploma & Certificate Tutor Linda

Linda has a background in physiotherapy and wellness and relaxation massage. After finishing her degree in physiotherapy in 2005, she worked for several Institutions like Hospitals, private clinics and Retirement Homes in Munich and started setting up her own part-time business in mobile therapeutic massage. She moved to NZ in 2010. Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa and Institute of Golf Auckland are among some of the well-known Businesses Linda has worked for. In 2014 Linda moved back to Canterbury and re-opened her business while contracting herself out to other local businesses. Linda is a passionate therapist with a wide range of hands on techniques and practical knowledge.

Linzi Thorburn – Diploma TutorLinzi

After 4 years of study in Sport and Exercise Science (Sports Injuries) and Sports Massage, Linzi completed her BSC (honours) degree.  Linzi has worked as Massage Therapist since graduating mostly specialising in Sports Massage, pre&post event massage, sports injuries and rehabilitation and strapping and taping. Linzi is originally from Scotland, since moving to NZ in 2013 she has worked within well-known busy clinics in a multidisciplinary environment expanding her knowledge and using that to benefit her client’s and student’s needs.  Linzi enjoys teaching to pass on her knowledge of something she is very passionate about and moulding students to become great therapists. Linzi’s strengths lie within musculoskeletal anatomy, Pathophysiology, Practical massage, Orthopaedic testing, Kinesio Taping and Anatomy and Physiology.
