NZ College of Massage are leaders in Massage Therapy Education providing quality education to our students.  NZCM is a Category 1, NZQA registered and accredited provider of massage qualifications for those aiming for careers in the massage industry.  We are seeking a new, dynamic full time team member to front our busy Christchurch Campus located in Riccarton.

We are seeking individuals who have an empathy with Pacific and Maori students with strong pastoral care skills, who will be willing to immerse themselves in the full range of activities that NZCM has to offer such as showing an interest in the holistic development of students both inside and outside the classroom.

This front line role will be key to the running of this busy campus and the link between students, clinic clients and staff alike.

Job tasks and responsibilities

General administrative and reception duties including some basic accounts work.

You will be friendly and efficient in your varied work, with good time management skills and be flexible with demands of busy tertiary life.

Control and Compliance of Student records

Financial Administration

Student Management and Customer Service

Inventory Management

Logistical requirements and scheduling

Student application and enrolment processing

Assisting Staff and Students

Student Clinic Administration

Skills and experience

You will be eligible to work in NZ and have excellent English skills both verbal and written as you will be contacting clients and students to arrange interviews and meetings.

Experience with Microsoft Office and basic accounts is a plus, however, some accounts training can be given to the right applicant.

Our NZCM staff are also required to be involved in other areas of the NZCM organisation such as expos, road shows and information evenings and Orientations whilst being totally committed to the achievement of our students.

The New Zealand College of Massage (NZCM) provides a range of qualifications in Massage from level 4 Certificate to Level 7 Degree level. We are the largest provider of massage qualifications in New Zealand and have been teaching therapists since 1993.  We currently hold a Category 1 status with NZQA the highest possible category, and have recently completed our TEC audit with No Recommendations.  To maintain our high quality teaching standards, we are always looking for outstanding tutors to deliver our courses at Certificate (weekend hours) and Diploma level (weekday hours) . If you have ever thought about teaching in body therapy, and would like to join our dynamic, exciting team in this growth field, we are interested in hearing from you. You will have the following skills:

  • A current qualification in Massage (minimum of Level 6 Diploma level), with excellent    understanding of the complexity and functioning of the body
  • Love human anatomy and physiology, and other theoretical aspects of health-related subjects
  • Have clinical experience (e.g. massage therapist or in other related health modalities ie. Reflexology, Aromatherapy, Hot Stone Massage)
  • Be excited to and able to adapt your teaching for massage therapy students, making your courses relevant for their practice
  • Be able to teach confidently to a wide range of cultures and ages (adult)


The weekly commitment could be as little as 1.5 days (or 9 hrs) per week or as much as a full time position depending on your teaching capability and expertise.

We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you have proficiency in one or more of the following areas:

Clinical Therapeutics and Theoretical and Clinical Reasoning: 

including techniques such as MET, NMT, Soft Tissue Therapy, Myofascial Treatment, and active release techniques.

  • Further qualifications in Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Sports Massage and Hot Stone Massage will be an advantage.
  • You must place these techniques within a massage clinical context.
  • You must have competency in functional assessment and the effects of posture and movement patterning.
  • You will hold a diploma or equivalent in areas of health science  and have considerable clinical experience and business management skills.
  • Hold an adult teaching qualification or be willing to commit to completing one through Open Polytech
